How can I be an artist?

Chalk It Up! Invites everyone in the community to have fun chalking up the sidewalks in and around the First Tennessee Pavilion. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, youth groups, students, want-to-be-artists and professional artists are invited to participate in this art-filled festival. The sidewalks at the First Tennessee Pavilion will be used to create works of art by drawing with pastels directly on the sidewalk. The sidewalk will be divided up for artists of all ages (ages 2 to 99) and all skill levels to create masterpieces. There is a $10 per square fee to be an artist, which includes a 48 piece box of pastel chalks.

All artists are sponsored by corporations, small business owners or individuals.
Artists may participate as an individual artist or as a member of a team/group
(4 members max.).

Each artist will draw a picture in chalk on a sidewalk square. The public is invited to view the “chalk paintings” and the artists at work.

Participate in Chalk It Up! by filling out the Artist Entry Form.

Sign up now and urge your friends to sign up or attend the festival. We encourage you to “talk the talk, then chalk the walk.”
